Children’s Mental Health Week 2024

Children's Mental Health Week is taking place on 5th-11th February. This year's theme is "My Voice Matters".

Every Mind Matters

Having good mental health helps us relax more, achieve more and enjoy our lives more. We are part of Barnet's Resilient schools and are currently involved in the well being project which aims to support our parents, carers, children and the staffs wellbeing and mental health. We will keep you updated with resources and links to help start the mental health conversation.

A Message for Parents, Children and Young People

Public Health England’s new 'Every Mind Matters' mental health campaign has some famous faces who read extracts from the best-selling author Charlie Mackesy’s well-known book, "The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse" to help inspire us all to speak more openly about our mental health and to ask for help when we may need it.

By talking openly about mental health from a young age, children can learn to better understand their emotions, break down stigma, and feel safe enough to reach out for help when it’s needed.

Talking about mental health and expressing our feelings can be difficult, no matter our age.

 Be Kind to your Mind

Mindfulness means paying full attention to something; slowing down to really notice what you are doing.

Paying more attention to the present moment – to your own thoughts and feelings, and to the world around you – can improve your mental wellbeing.

You can complete a personal ‘Mind Plan’, a quick and free interactive tool offering adults tailored mental wellbeing advice.

Wellbeing improves as Resilience increases

Resilience is the process of handling stress and the capacity to recover quickly in the face of difficulties. We can learn to be more resilient.

Activities to increase Resilience

Doing good is an essential ingredient to being happy, and happiness helps spark kindness and generosity.

Giving to others releases endorphins, activating the parts of our brains that are associated with trust, pleasure, and social connection.
